Crews completed joint training operations with Papineau-Cameron Fire Deparatment (PCFD) this week.
Completed 2 evolutions, one with water supply from a portable pump and the other from Porta-tank (tanker shuttle) supply.
PCFD’s portable pump was setup on the Ottawa River, and MFD 4″ supply was laid to the pump off Pumper 08. The 2 1/2″ kit is needed to adapt to the twin ports on the portable pump.
Calculated fire flows with 2 x 2 1/2″ attack hoses laid to the portable ground monitor. Set for 1000, 750, and 500gpm throughout the tests.
The second evolution was with a tanker shuttle. Pumper 05 was used to draft out of the Porta-tank and relay pumped to Pumper 08 with 4″ LDH. We were able to achieve 750-900 gpm flow from the portable pump and were able to achieve 900 gpm flow from the porta-tank.
