Members of the Mattawa Fire Department inspected and reloaded equipment after this week’s structure fire.
After being fully deconned, crews thoroughly inspect and check functionality of their SCBA’s before reinstalling them in the trucks. New members also received refresher training on SCBA inspections.
With our main attack hose washed and dried, crews repacked the modified minuteman hose loads and loaded them back on our first due pumper.
Proper decontamination, cleanliness, and operational functionality are key aspects in keeping the crew and public safe.
This is completed with every piece of equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and apparatus each and every time it’s used on scene.
This past week’s structure call had six (6) hours of cleaning, inspecting, and reloading after the fire was extinguished.
